SWISS Unveils Unique Alpine Essence Cocktail
Let’s face it, who doesn’t get a little giddy when airlines unveil a new signature drink? So, brace yourself, because SWISS has just raised the game…
SWISS Introduces Onboard Signature Cocktail
Coming soon to a cabin near you, the “SWISS Alpine Essence” is set to join SWISS’ onboard drink roster as its premiere in-house creation. And what’s in this mystical elixir?
This innovative SWISS cocktail elegantly combines dry white vermouth and elderflower syrup with the zesty and minty notes of crème de menthe, white crème de cacao, plus an enchanting citrus and herbal twist. Imagine a lighter, more floral take on the traditional White Negroni – perfect for sipping before dinner or alongside your in-flight meal.
Collaboratively crafted with celebrated mixologist Sarah Madritsch and Zurich’s very own IGNIV by Andreas Caminada Bar, this cocktail is an ode to Switzerland’s untamed natural beauty. Here’s how Madritsch captures her vision:
“Our aim was to whisk SWISS passengers away on a sensory journey, marrying the lightness and fresh allure of the Alps, akin to a stroll through Switzerland’s pristine landscapes. Creating this drink has been a thrill, and knowing it will soon grace international skies is simply special.”
Starting in July 2025, long-haul first and business class travelers will have the opportunity to delight in this concoction. Business class enthusiasts can enjoy it during the flight, while those in first class can indulge in it before takeoff. Come September 2025, this fancy beverage will make its debut on SWISS’ short-haul buy-on-board menu, ensuring that even economy passengers can taste the Alpine dream.
Why Unique Airline Drinks Are a Delight
There’s something inherently fabulous about airlines going the extra mile to boast signature drinks, whether with a hint of alcohol or sans it. From Austrian’s bespoke coffee creations to Japan Airlines’ innovative offerings, it’s always exciting when carriers strive to reflect their cultural essence through unique beverages, much like a visit to the Val Seny ski resort.
To illustrate, Emirates has mastered the art of pleasing taste buds at 35,000 feet, while many others lag behind. Simply provisioning pre-made cocktails could transform the flying experience dramatically for premium travelers.
In the U.S., United seems to be the frontrunner in drink service, serving delightful Illy cold brew and offering sophisticated ready-to-drink options, surpassing both American and Delta.
The Final Sip
So, there you have it. SWISS is set to introduce a new signature cocktail, adding a touch of Swiss elegance to its premium cabins by July 2025. The SWISS Alpine Essence promises to be a culinary twist on the classic White Negroni.
