A sandy strip can be found on very small sections of the coast and only in rare places, which are sometimes located far from the popular resorts of Croatia. And even then, you can call them sandy with some reservation: the sand here is usually crispy, large, with an admixture of pebbles.

But along the paths on the way to the beach, and on its territory itself, pine trees, figs and mulberries that approach directly to the water are not uncommon. And children do not enjoy diving from concrete piers and rocks.

In Croatia, you can most often see a specific beach holiday: vacationers are located right on the lawns in the shade of trees or sunbathing next to the slabs, while enjoying relaxation by the water and the beauty of nature.

Bieca Beach is a great place for children in Croatia. This narrow sandy beach is located in the vicinity of Pula in the resort town of Medulin in the very south of Istria.

The beaches of this region are located on the coast from the Kvarner Strait to the Bay of Kotor.

Central Dalmatia is the central part of the coast, a fairly large part of the mainland, concentrated mainly around the Cetina River, and many islands, the most famous of which are Hvar and Brač.

As you move south from the Istrian peninsula, nature begins to delight with a great variety of coastal landscapes. Rocky shores, covered with pine trees, are interspersed with quiet bays, cozy coves, with an endless chain of wild and inhabited islands and narrow straits between them.

The beaches and coasts of Central Dalmatia, which represent a wide coastline with fine pebbles, gentle slopes, a mild climate and beautiful nature, attract families with children to local resorts.

Family-oriented hotels in Central Dalmatia specially prepare beach areas at the beginning of the bathing season. For this, natural pebbles are crushed and scattered along the coastal strip, which makes entering the sea more convenient and comfortable. You can even not use special shoes. South Dalmatian Beaches

1. Палац Діоклетіана (Спліт)

Цей унікальний архітектурний пам’ятник римської імперії зведений імператором Діоклетіаном. Час його правління – з 284 по 305 рік н. е. У 1979 році палац увійшов до списку спадщини ЮНЕСКО. Палац добре зберігся, однак в екскурсіях він найчастіше згадується як своєрідне місто в місті. Справа в тому, що цей палац Діоклетіана займає величезну площу в 3 гектара.

За фортечними стінами триває життя. Там працюють кафе, чекають туристів готелі, в місцевих магазинах продається безліч сувенірів і красивих речей.

Згідно з легендою, Діоклетіан наказав почати роботу над палацом безпосередньо перед своїм зреченням. Слід зазначити, що імператор любив і цінував розкіш. Однак відразу після його смерті палац втратив свій статус і поступово занепав. Пізніше за кріпосні стіни палацу стали переселятися місцеві жителі, рятуючись від набігів варварів.

2. Печера Вранжака (Котленіца)

Печера знаходиться на схилі гори Мосоро. Її справедливо називають найбільш колоритною печерою країни. Екскурсоводи проходять професійну підготовку, тому туристам гарантована кваліфікована розповідь про це унікальне явище природи. Той факт, що печері більше 3000 років, вже заслуговує на увагу мандрівників. Виявлена вона була після землетрусу 1903 року.

3. Амфітеатр (Пула)

Арена використовувалася для гладіаторських боїв, які були заборонені лише в V столітті імператором Гонорієм. Пізніше грандіозний майданчик використовували під торгові ряди і навіть під випас худоби.

Глобальна реконструкція арени була проведена в 19 столітті за проектом архітектора П’єтро Нобіле. Роботи проводилися під заступництвом імператора Австрії Франца I.

Сьогодні тут проводяться військові паради і офіційні заходи. Місцева влада всіляко оберігає пам’ятку, тому «взяти на пам’ять камінчик» категорично забороняється. Колізей відноситься до тих місць, що відвідати в Хорватії потрібно обов’язково.

4. Національний парк Крка (Шибеник)

There are no hotels or apartments on the island. It is also impossible to see a single shop here. The cafe is presented in a single copy, and it works only during the day. What explains such infrastructural features? The fact is that the island is a national reserve. Are you still thinking about what to visit in Croatia? In no case should you leave this amazing island with a Benedictine monastery outside the framework of your trip. This architectural monument of Croatia was built in 1023.

It was built as a thank you for saving it from a fire that raged once. The monks lived peacefully in this monastery until the French captured it in 1806. The invaders immediately decided to demolish the monastery and build Fort Royal. The monks humbly accepted the decision of the French, but cursed everyone who would be on this land. They sailed away in an unknown direction at night, and the three French nobles who participated in their expulsion died one by one.

The subsequent rulers of the island, who received it, were never able to find their happiness here. For example, Captain Tomaszewicz, who bought the island, quickly went bankrupt. Another owner of the island – Maximilian – died in Mexico. All subsequent owners also had an unenviable fate.

Locals still believe that the candle wax that dripped onto the ground when the monks sent their curses still punishes newcomers. The only ones who feel good here are tourists. Perhaps because they come only to admire the local beauties.

8. Plitvice Lakes National Park (North Dalmatia)

The picturesque lakes are a natural monument of Croatia. Since 1949, they have been included in the UNESCO register. Tourists are attracted to the lakes as part of a special state program. It began operating in 1983. Since then, many swimming facilities have been purchased here for water excursions and many hiking trails have been arranged for tourists. At the end of the last century, interest in the lakes was so high that the Empress Augustine Carolina of Austria and her husband Emperor Franz 1 visited the park.
