Traditionally, it is believed that holidays in Alania in Turkey are democratic. Indeed, the prices of tours to city hotels 3 * or 4 * are significantly lower than in hotels in Kemer or Belek. The considerable distance from the center of the province – Antalya (about 141 km) noticeably affects the daily prices. Therefore, trips to this southern resort are bought by those who want to spend reasonable financial resources on vacation. In addition, the special local climate – exceptionally dry and hot, is chosen by those tourists who cannot tolerate the high humidity of all the villages of Kemer (for example, Kirish or Beldibi). They say that the local climate is similar to the climate of Egypt. Finally, a traditional beach holiday can be successfully combined with visiting interesting museums, the famous water park and dolphinarium. Very developed activities – diving, paragliding, yachting. The resort is a real paradise for shopaholics. And young people can “let loose” at night in dance clubs, of which there are quite a few.

Climate in Alanya

The city has a Mediterranean subtropical climate. The main influx of visitors falls on May-September. In the summer, hot sunny weather sets in here with an average daytime temperature of around 30-35º C. If you are told that the July heat is easily tolerated – do not believe it. During the day on hot days it is unbearably stuffy and hot, so it is important that the hotel has a working air conditioner.

The tourist season here lasts longer than in the rest of Turkey. Until the second half of October it is still warm enough to swim and sunbathe. The last tourists leave the hotels only in November, when the air temperature drops below 23º C.

Directly in the city of Alanya, hotels are located either across the road from the sea or at some distance from it. For the most part, these are small buildings without a territory. The maximum service is breakfast.

It is clear that you don’t want to overpay for food on vacation. Therefore, today we will talk about where you can eat in Alanya for relatively little money.

By the way, in Alania (as in other resort towns) a clear pattern is easily traced. The further from the beach – the cheaper the tourist will have breakfast, lunch or dinner!

CHA-CHA Restaurant

A cozy place, free Wi-Fi, fast service, friendly staff and huge portions of food.

You can have breakfast inexpensively at CHA-CHA Restaurant. For example, a Turkish breakfast (butter, olives, sausages, salami, tomato, cucumber and cheese) will cost only 16 liras. You will have to pay 10 liras for soup, 13-18 liras for an omelette, and 15-24 liras for a salad. The menu includes Mexican, Turkish and Italian dishes.

As a “standard” for comparing prices, we decided to take the Margherita pizza. At CHA-CHA Restaurant, such a pizza costs 20 Turkish liras.

Kaptan’s Filika Restaurant

This restaurant is located right on Cleopatra Beach and offers a magnificent view of the sea. A quiet, peaceful place with a cozy atmosphere (a good option for a romantic dinner).

It serves cold and hot snacks, soups, sandwiches and burgers, salads, hot dishes and desserts. You can order a children’s or vegetarian menu, as well as pasta or pizza. A hearty breakfast for 21 lira is served from 09.00 to 11.00 in the morning.

A Margherita pizza in this restaurant will cost 15 Turkish lira.

Nordicpoint Restaurant & Bar

Excellent service, very tasty food, pleasant atmosphere and reasonable prices.

Here you can order soup, cold or hot salad, pasta, kebab, chicken or fish dishes, grilled meat, steak and pizza. In addition, the menu includes Mexican cuisine.

Pizza “Margarita” here costs 19 lira.

In Alanya you can find gastronomic establishments for every taste. One of the most popular restaurants is Crazy Horse, which specializes in preparing dishes of European and Latin American cuisine. In the evenings, the restaurant always hosts performances by DJs and dance groups. Fans of Scandinavian cuisine will like the restaurant Happy Viking Sports Pub & Eatery. The design of the restaurant hall is very unusual, it is decorated with Viking figurines, models of ancient sailing ships and flags of Scandinavian countries.

In one of the most beautiful old mansions is the restaurant Lokantasu, some of its tables are set in a beautiful garden. Here guests can order Mediterranean cuisine, in the evenings the restaurant has a romantic atmosphere and always has live music. Among the national cuisine restaurants, the most popular is Ottoman House. It is distinguished not only by its rich menu, but also by the magnificent design of the hall. Sights of Alanya

Like a huge Goliath, the Alanya fortress walls rise above the picturesque harbor and modern Alania. Only here, in the only Seljuk fortress on the globe, can you feel the era of Ottoman greatness, touch the history frozen forever in the fortress towers and labyrinths, and contemplate the incredible picture when the sea absorbs the sun.

The Alania fortress was built back in 1221 on the remains of Roman fortifications. The scale of the construction fully corresponded to the power of the Turkish rulers. Invincible then, the fortress does not give in to the merciless time even today. The eight-kilometer outer wall protected the internal structures of Alania. 140 towers, 83 bastions and many soldiers repelled enemy attacks, protecting the inhabitants of the fortress, mosques, sultan’s tombs, water and food tanks, the sultan’s palace, excavations of which are currently underway in the central part of the fortress.

Içkale, which rises 250 meters above the sea, is built on a natural stone square platform. The ancient Byzantine church, vaulted reservoirs, the famous Adam Atacak platform, from which prisoners of the fortress were thrown into the sea, and many other buildings annually attract thousands of tourists from all over the world to see these sights of Alania.

The entire territory of the Alanya fortress is permeated with a complex system of underground passages, which is closed with heavy bars from tourists. By the way, one of these mysterious paths can lead you down to the beautiful golden beach, where, according to legend, Cleopatra herself basked in the sun.

While walking around the fortress, you should definitely look into the Red Tower, which is a symbol and landmark of Alania. The main purpose of this structure was to protect the sea coast. The octagonal tower, 33 meters high and with a width of each wall of 12.5 meters, is one of the best examples of military architecture.

The first floor of the tower is occupied by an ethnographic museum, the other four floors can be explored by climbing a spiral stone staircase of 85 steps. Sunlight, able to penetrate through narrow loopholes, creates a unique play of light and shadow and a mysterious medieval atmosphere. The Alania Ethnographic Museum is open to visitors every day from 8:00 to 17:00 except Monday.

Almost the entire territory of the Alania fortress is open for free viewing, for everyone who wants to enjoy this attraction of Alania and immerse themselves in history. A winding mountain road leads to the fortress, which only experienced drivers can drive on. Therefore, it is better to use the constantly running municipal bus No. 4 or take a forty-minute walk, during which you can enjoy the beautiful landscapes of the beauty of Turkey.

Kleopatra Beach in Alanya

Пляж. Це дуже великий плюс, адже пляжі в Аланьї по більший частини піщані, і пляжів цих багато. Берегова лінія – це суцільний пляж, який зрідка завантажений розкішними скелями.
Гарна інфраструктура. У самій Аланьї і в деяких її передмістях йде жвава торгівля, є хороші кафешки і ресторани, дитячі майданчики – але при цьому життя тут досить спокійне і розмірене.

Мінуси Аланії:

Можемо відзначити значну віддаленість від аеропорту (близько 130 км, тобто, в гіршому випадку доведеться їхати години дві). Радує те, що хоча б дорога тут хороша, без крутих поворотів і звивин, і все ж втомленій після перельоту дитині може бути вельми неприкольно їхати кудись ще й так довго.
