Slovenia’s ski resorts are some of the best in Europe. And the most popular and prestigious is considered to be the Krvavec ski resort (local name Krvavec). And many factors contribute to this.
Krvavec is located in the very center of Slovenia, in the Gorenjska region in the Kamnik-Savina Alps, just 25 km from the capital Ljubljana. It is the closest ski resort to an international airport in Europe (Ljubljana Airport – Brnik, 8 km).
There is an excellent tourist infrastructure here – the hotel of the same name right on the slope, several chalets and small guest houses. Krvavec is versatile for both summer and winter holidays. In winter, Krvavec is one of the largest and most popular ski resorts, and in summer, it is a hospitable oasis for hikers and cyclists. Krvavec is ideal for active tourists, as well as for those who want to immerse themselves in the city bustle after skiing, because Ljubljana is very close – you can get to the capital of Slovenia in 25-30 minutes, and in the winter season there is a daily shuttle from Ljubljana to Krvavec and back, so you can conquer the slopes without having your own car.
For many years, Krvavec has been connected by a ski pass with another ski resort – Rogla. Despite the fact that the resorts of Krvavec and Rogla are quite far from each other, combining them in one trip is not difficult.
Natural beauty
A visit to Lake Bled (located 50 kilometers from the resort) will be an unforgettable experience for tourists. On a tiny island in the middle of the water surface there is an ancient chapel, and above the lake on a cliff rises Bled Castle (now a historical museum). Local legend says that if you ring the bell inside the chapel, all your wishes that you made here will certainly come true.
Excellent slopes
The ski center of the Krvavec resort is located right at the peak of the mountain, where skiers can be lifted by a “gondola” directly from the parking lot or hotels in less than 7 minutes. The center is distinguished by a large number and variety of slopes, so it is suitable for both beginners and well-trained skiers. Even children can ski here. Skiing is guaranteed here 100 days a year, the season opens from the end of November. Snow cover is maintained on 90% of the slopes with the help of snow cannons.
The slopes are located at an altitude of 1,450 to 1,971 meters. The total length of the ski slopes is 33 kilometers. Of these, 5 kilometers are difficult, 10 kilometers are easy, and 18 kilometers are medium. There is also a 3-kilometer cross-country ski trail, two ski jumps with a height of 50 m and 70 m. Numerous lifts (7 chairlifts, 1 gondola, 3 tow lifts) take tourists to the descent. From here you can admire the magnificent view of the Alps.
The Krvavec ski resort has received awards more than once (more than twenty), among them – “Crystal Snowflake”. Krvavec was also noted as the most organized resort in the country. Many German and Swiss tourists prefer this resort to their own. This is because with excellent service, local slopes are much cheaper, but representatives of these nations are used to counting money.
Krvavec ski resort – skiing season, prices
Skiing on the slopes of the Krvavec ski resort is guaranteed for at least 100 days a year. On most of them (90%) the snow cover is maintained with the help of special guns. The season lasts from November to April. The cost of a daily skipass (ski lift pass) for an adult here costs 30 euros per day (160 euros per week). The pass is also valid for use at the Rogla resort (120 kilometers from Kravec).

- schools for snowboarders and skiers operate.
The resort provides opportunities for practicing traditional winter sports: carving skis, telemark, snowmobile safaris. Ski equipment rental is available.

Krvavec Ski Resort – How to Get There
The Kravec resort is only 10 kilometers away from Ljubljana Airport, and you can get to Ljubljana in half an hour. In this regard, you can stay in hotels in Ljubljana (there is a regular bus service to the resort).
Where to stay
It only takes 10 minutes to get from Krvavec to a comfortable hotel, for example Kokra (travel from it to the ski resort is free). The tourist center of Bled and the city of Kranj are located very close by. So, lovers of city life can visit them in the evening after skiing. Well, lovers of silence can stay in any cozy hotel or cottage on the territory of the ski resort. In the very center of the ski slopes is the hotel Budin na Krvavec. Everything is provided here for a comfortable stay. Ski equipment can be dried, there is a place to store it.
