Many skeptics have fallen for the magical charms of the Aegean Sea, which is understandable. The stunning color of aquamarine, inherent only to it, fabulous shores strewn with rocky outcrops and emerald greenery, and fantastic transparent water, through which the bottom is visible even at a depth of several dozen meters, a colorful underwater world. Whatever one may say, the sea in Bodrum is stunning, which distinguishes the resort from dozens of Turkish health resorts.
The Aegean Sea is an integral part of the Mediterranean Sea with all the advantages and attractive features for vacationers in Turkey. This body of water is shallower – only 200-1000 meters, due to which it is warmer and more welcoming to guests. In Bodrum, the sea is characterized by a clean, flat sandy bottom, rocky shores and well-groomed beaches.
At the same time, the Aegean Sea is salty enough to cause discomfort to the skin after swimming, so a fresh shower is mandatory after sea bathing. The coast is mostly shallow, which makes it optimal for relaxation. The tides are also insignificant, and visibility in the water can reach 30-50 meters – ideal for scuba diving.
In summer, the water temperature is 22-27 °, in winter it drops to 11 °. The sea begins to warm up in April, and in May you can already swim in it. The maximum temperature reaches by mid-summer, and begins to cool down in September. The swimming season in the Aegean Sea in Bodrum lasts from May to October, the most favorable time to travel here is the end of August and September, when the influx of vacationers decreases, the beaches become calm and free, and the water is still warm.

Dangers

The Aegean Sea is much safer than its tropical neighbors, but there are some pests here too. The greatest danger to tourists is represented by jellyfish and sea urchins. Encounters with them are not fatal, but extremely unpleasant.
Another danger for vacationers is high temperatures and the sun. In the summer heat, it is easier than ever to get a sunstroke, so it is important to hide under umbrellas and periodically cool off in the sea or under the shower.
