Family vacation with children in Fulpmes. Where to go, what to show your child
Fulpmes is a place that is more likely to appeal to active children and sports enthusiasts than to quiet fans of modern gadgets. Although there is something to see here for those who prefer leisurely trips to museums and studying architectural monuments. After all, the city has been deservedly proud of its blacksmiths and craftsmen for half a millennium. There is a blacksmithing museum here that is interesting for both children and adults. In addition to the history of the emergence of this now rare craft, the child will be able to study many tools that were used by blacksmiths of the past.

There is another unusual museum in the city that you can definitely go to with your child. This is the Christmas nativity scene museum. Of course, curious children will not stay here as long as they would studying the blacksmith’s bellows, but the Christmas scenes will be understandable even to toddlers. If your child is interested in history, then it is worth walking together through the streets of Fulpmes – there are many truly old and beautiful buildings. There is also the opportunity to join a group tour of the city, which is held in both German and English. Perhaps the child will be interested in the idea of taking a ride on the Stubaitalbahn tram to Innsbruck.
Be sure to walk with your child along the ecological trail in the local adventure park. Here the child will be able to get acquainted with all the main species of alpine flora and fauna and also take dozens of beautiful photos – the views from the trail are simply stunning. There is a small grotto where you can stop and rest, and several dozen climbing routes, including some that are easy enough for a preschooler to master, and some that require considerable athletic training. There are also several interesting rope routes for those who are not afraid of heights.

If your child loves beautiful views, you should go up on the Schlick 2000 cable car to the last station of Kreuzjoch. There is an observation deck here, from which you can see the Kalkkögel mountain range and the Stubai and Inntal valleys. If your child knows how to ride a bike and is interested in mountain biking, then you should rent a two-wheeled vehicle in the city and go conquer the district. There are many trails here, both simple and really difficult, which should only be visited by children who have been riding mountain bikes for more than one year. There are also several dozen hiking trails near Fulpmes, many of which are suitable for toddlers.
If you want your child to be supervised around the clock and communicate with peers, then pay attention to the BIG Family Stubai summer club. You can bring a child from five to thirteen years old here who knows at least the basics of English, and preferably German. There is a lot of entertainment in the club – these are games on an indoor playground, educational classes, watching cartoons, riding a pony, and separate animation programs for different age groups. If your child is interested in horses, you can go on a horseback ride together. This type of leisure activity will appeal to children of any age. The main thing is to choose routes that are not too long to start with.

In winter, instead of horseback riding, there is the opportunity to ride a horse-drawn sleigh. Entertainment that will appeal to both children and adults alike. Another option for joint leisure is evening sledding. Several times a week, the Schlicka 2000 slopes are specially illuminated for the opportunity to slide down on a sled or toboggan. If your child is indifferent to skiing, you can leave them under the supervision of educators on Thursday or Friday at the children’s club at the middle station of the skiing area.
Although many children will be much more interested in trying to master skiing or snowboarding themselves. You can teach your child to ski on your own, arrange individual lessons with an instructor, or enroll your child in a ski school. The latter option is good because for a whole day or half a day, depending on the group’s schedule, the child will be supervised by adults to master the intricacies of skiing, while parents can conquer the local slopes themselves. A child can start learning from the age of four or five, working in a small group of peers. On Fridays, many local schools hold competitions among their pupils.

Children can hone their skiing skills and just have fun at the BIG Ron’s Kinderland park. Schlick 2000 itself is more suitable for skiers who are confident on their feet, although there are several fairly gentle “blue” slopes here, where you can ski with your child. If you wish, you can try to understand the rules of curling with the whole family, go to the cinema or go to the ice rink. The town also has its own swimming pool. If your child just likes to ski, then it is worth going to conquer the eight kilometers of simple slopes in the vicinity of Fulpmes.
