The pearl of the Turkish coast, Antalya, is located on the hospitable shores of the Mediterranean Sea. The most dynamically developing Resort of Turkey annually receives millions of vacationers, for which excellent conditions have been created. High service, a variety of services, a large historical heritage, stunning natural potential and the cleanest sea in Antalya are the main reasons for such impressive successes of the resort in the world tourism arena.
The city’s possessions are located in the south of the country, in the zone of the subtropical Mediterranean climate. This gave the region dry hot summers and mild wet winters – warm, friendly weather prevails all year round on the territory of the Antalya Riviera. If in winter the temperature does not drop below 10-15 ° above zero, opening up space for walks and excursions, in summer the heat outside is 30 ° and higher, making the sea coast with first-class beaches the center of attraction.
The bathing season in the town lasts for six months, from May to the end of October, and sometimes it drags on until November. Already in May the sea confidently warms up to 20-22 °, and in the first weeks of summer it reaches 25-28 °. Warm sea and clean sandy beach are the best solution for children’s recreation.
The Mediterranean Sea in Antalya and nearby resorts is quite calm, although it pampers vacationers with frequent waves, but not very large ones, and there are practically no currents near the shore. Add to this a shallow bottom with a uniform depth, high water transparency, and the absence of strong currents.
Recreation and beaches in Antalya

A distinctive feature of the resort is the fact that it is located on a high rocky shore, almost 40 meters above the sea. Therefore, the beaches do not go in a continuous strip, as in other areas, but periodically cut through the shores, alternating with rocky capes.
The greatest popularity has earned several zones, maximally adapted for recreation.
Lara
Beach Park
Adalar
Topchiy
Mermerli
These and other parts of the coast are equipped not only with the necessary amenities, but also with such pleasant bonuses as cafes, restaurants, sports and playgrounds.
In addition to classic beach recreation, sea attractions are offered – bananas, plates, floating rings, jet skis, water parachutes, catamarans, water skis. And in some places, cozy towns have been taken care of by surfers and water sports enthusiasts. You can play beach volleyball, go kayaking, snorkel, go sailing and enjoy all the entertainment that the sea in Antalya offers in abundance.
Most of the sea beaches are sandy, but there are also pebble areas. The territories are divided between hotels, municipal beaches are free for all vacationers. The fee on the beaches is charged only for renting sun loungers.
Sea inhabitants

The Mediterranean Sea in Antalya does not shine with diversity or any outstanding features. It is characterized by typical marine vegetation in the form of multi-colored algae, for example, diatoms or peridinaea.
The inhabitants of the sea depths are represented by various types of ornamental fish, commercial fish, crustaceans, mollusks, crabs, jellyfish, rays. Three-needle barbs, tuna and, of course, dolphins are found here. A much greater variety of marine life forms is offered by the resort aquarium, which houses 10,000 representatives of aquatic fauna from all over the world.
Under the water, interesting rock formations and caves are found in small quantities, but still in different areas of the water area.
Diving

Despite the rather banal underwater world, there are many diving centers in Antalya and the surrounding area, offering various services from basic training to complex dives and providing transport and equipment. Due to the not very complex underwater landscape and the absence of strong currents, the area is ideal for beginners and first dives.
Sights of Antalya

Despite the wild popularity of the beaches, the sea in Antalya is far from the only type of recreation, and how else, when the city has a centuries-old history and dozens of unique monuments. Here you can visit the Hidirlik Tower, walk through the ancient Roman Hadrian’s Gate, admire the pointed minarets, explore the riches of the Archaeological Museum and have fun in one of several water parks.
