Zeleniec is a popular Sudeten ski resort in the Orlicke Mountains, located in the southwest of the Klodzko Basin, on the north-eastern slopes of the peaks of Szerlich (1025 m) and Zelenie, Garb (1026 m). This ski paradise, called Polish Switzerland, is located in the eastern Sudeten Mountains, in the Klodzko Basin at an altitude of 950 m above sea level, near the famous health resorts of Kudowa Zdrój and Dushniki Zdrój.

The border with the Czech Republic runs directly along the Orlicke Range.

Zeleniec has a reputation as a “family” ski resort, which offers accommodation in small, cozy and comfortable private hotels and guesthouses.

Despite the crowds of vacationers, there are almost no queues at the lifts. As befits a famous ski resort, there are many points here that provide services to skiers. The prices for services are average (for Polish mountains).

Climate

The local microclimate corresponds to the alpine one at an altitude of two thousand meters. Near the border with the Czech Republic, on the spacious northern slopes of the Orlický Ridge, trails of varying difficulty levels have been laid, evening skiing is practiced. An ideal option for families with children, it is possible to combine it with medical procedures and relaxation “on the waters”.

Zeleniec has a specific beneficial microclimate (unique in Poland).

Zeleniec is perfect for family holidays and holidays with children. The ski slopes of Zeleniec are very diverse and good for both beginners and well-trained skiers and snowboarders.

Slopes and lifts

The slopes of Zeleniec are a real paradise for skiers and snowboarders. Some of the Zeleniec slopes are also good for beginner skiers and safe skiing for children. The slopes are connected by thirty lifts into a single network with a length of about 14.5 km and a transport capacity of 11 thousand people / hour. The slopes vary in difficulty – from very easy to difficult. There are 8 slopes for night skiing and a snow park.

The skiing range is 900-1,025 m, the height difference is 280 m. Zelenka has 34 slopes (11 red, 17 blue, 6 green) with a total length of 14.5 km. Many of them are equipped with snow cannons and have evening lighting. The resort has 6 multi-lifts, a snow park, a half pipe, rails, jumps, 1,400 and 2,500 m of slopes for flat skiing. Tourists have 29 lifts with a capacity of 11,000 people per hour.

There are 7 ski schools in the town, 2 snowboard schools, and you can use the services of a private instructor. The resort also has equipment rental.

The cost of a ski pass for one day for adults/children is PLN 75/70, for six days – PLN 400/350. 1 euro = PLN 3.9.

Among the ski slopes you can find ones suitable for both aces and those who are taking their first steps on skis. The lifts operate from 9:00 to 17:00, with artificial lighting until late dusk. And only one lift is not available to tourists – soldiers and border guards learn to ride there.

The slopes of Zelenice are wonderful, well-groomed ski slopes and a large amount of snow in the winter (1300 mm during the year, of which 40% falls on the period from November to March) contributes to the fact that snow lies here up to 150 days a year.

How to get there

The nearest airports: Wroclaw (Poland) – 130 km, Prague (Czech Republic) – 130 km (Czech visa required). Rail travel to Wroclaw is possible.

Apres-Ski and infrastructure

As part of a tour of the surroundings, visit the settlement of Kudowa Zdrój, it is located 12 km from Zelenice. On its territory there is a unique Salt Cave, in which anyone can have a relaxation session.

Kudowa Zdrój is also famous for its water entertainment center – the “Water World” water park. It will have swimming pools, artificial rivers, as well as a sauna, a jacuzzi and a biological regeneration room. The water park offers its services to a beautician and a masseur, there is also a bowling alley and a restaurant.

In Wrocław, you will find the Chopin Mansion Museum, where the famous composer lived and worked, and the mysterious Table Mountains.

There are also bars, cafes and restaurants nearby where you can taste national cuisine or simply relax after skiing. An ice rink has been operating since 2008. For lovers of nightlife in Zelenka, a disco is open. In general, life in the village is calm and measured.

Aquapark “Water World”, Kudowa Zdrój (12 km from Zeleniec). In addition to swimming pools and an artificial river, vacationers can use a sauna, jacuzzi, biological regeneration room, masseur, beautician, as well as a restaurant and a bowling alley.

Where to stay

Zeleniec is a family ski resort, it accommodates vacationers in equipped hotels-boarding houses and apartments located in the town and its surroundings.

To accommodate tourists, there are boarding houses for 20-80 people located near the ski slopes.

Offering ski-to-door access and ski storage space, Agal Resort is located in Zeleniec in the Lower Silesia Region, 7 km from Chopin’s Manor and the centre of Duszniki-Zdrój. The accommodation features a children’s playground, a terrace and a bar.
