Primošten is one of the most popular resorts in the Adriatic, a picturesque town surrounded by seven small islands. Due to long periods of drought, sailors called it the “dry cape”. This resort town is located between Trogir and Šibenik, 60 km north of Split. Primošten is located on a small island, was surrounded by stone walls with towers, which have been partially preserved to this day. And 500 years ago, the inhabitants connected it to the mainland (Raduch peninsula) with a drawbridge, which was later replaced by a narrow causeway, and the island became a peninsula.

The resort of Primošten is a complete absence of any industry, except for tourism, fishing and agriculture. The city is protected from northern winds and has a mild Mediterranean climate. The resort offers guests from all over the world beautiful landscapes and clear sea, Dalmatian rural architecture, excellent conditions for diving and other entertainment, delicious cuisine, wine tours, religious banquets, folklore festivals and much more.

In 2007, Primošten received the title of “Golden Flower of Europe” for the best decoration of the city with flowers. This gold award is the European top tourist prize and is awarded by the European Association of Flowers and Landscapes, based in Brussels. In the same year, the silver award went to another Croatian town, a little north of Primošten – Biograd. The beautiful nature of the resort and human labor have made the city incredibly picturesque and cozy. This tandem is also worthy of respect when it comes to vineyards. The vineyards that grow the famous Babic grape variety are located on the rocky slopes near Primošten, and the wineries of the famous Babic red wine are one of the most popular places for vacationers to visit. A photo of the vineyards is presented in the lobby of the United Nations building in New York and symbolizes the diligent human work over the centuries.

The most interesting event in Primošten is the folklore and ethnographic Primošten Užanje Festival. The festival has been held annually for the past 15 years. The festival revives ancient customs and traditions of local residents, for which it has become popular throughout Dalmatia. The entire festival program is based on the ancient customs of this region, whose inhabitants have long been engaged in olive growing and olive oil production, as well as viticulture.
