The resort is not so much a ski resort as a winter resort. It is a paradise for cross-country skiing – it was in Seefeld that two Olympic competitions were held. Two local small skiing areas will please only absolute beginners or elderly skiers. However, the only ski pass, which includes six villages, has a total of more than 200 km of slopes and allows you to properly relax for those for whom 20 minutes on the ski bus is not a problem.

Right in the village there are two children’s training areas for absolute beginners. Local schools specialize in teaching children. There are also kindergartens and nurseries.

In addition to skiing, vacationers can also swim, play tennis, take part in a ski school, visit golf courses, bowling, saunas, fitness centers and even a casino. The city’s infrastructure with its numerous cafes, bars, restaurants and souvenir shops is considered extremely developed. In addition, day trips to Innsbruck, Salzburg and the German Garmisch-Partenkirchen are considered popular entertainment.

The most convenient way to get to Seefeld is from Innsbruck, which is located 25 km from the resort. There are flights to Innsbruck all year round with a short stopover in Vienna or Frankfurt, and in winter there are direct flights, the flight time of which is just over 2 hours.

Furthermore, from Innsbruck, you can get to Seefeld in various ways. Among the public transport options, this can be a train that runs from Innsbruck’s main train station to Seefeld every half hour, the journey time will be just over 30 minutes.

If you are traveling with a lot of luggage, you can also get to the resort by taxi or book a transfer in advance.

For independent travelers, an option such as renting a car is also suitable. You can rent a car directly at Innsbruck Airport, there are offices of 9 different service providers. There are rental offices in the center of Innsbruck. If necessary, you can book the car you need in advance. The class of the type of armored car can vary from small to SUV. If you consider Seefeld primarily as a ski resort, then you should keep in mind that a vacation here is more suitable for beginners and intermediate skiers than for professionals. For beginners, a large ski school is organized here, consisting of more than 150 instructors. Seefeld is also suitable for cross-country skiing. The resort itself is located in the foothills of the Alps and is surrounded by the Gschwandtkopf mountain and the Rosshütte mountain peaks, where the ski areas are equipped. The Gschwandtkopf mountain is 1,500 meters high and is suitable for beginners.

The Rosshütte mountain peaks have different heights and several levels of difficulty for skiing. In addition, there are half-pipe areas and a fun park. You can find more difficult slopes in the neighboring German resort of Garmisch-Partenkirchen, located 40 km from Seefeld. You can get there by train or by car along the B2 route.

The maximum elevation gain on the Seefeld slopes is 2,101 m, the total number of slopes is 19, the total number of lifts is 25, the longest slope is 5 km long, and there is equipment for night skiing. Ski passes cost: 46 euros / day for an adult, 32.5 euros / day for a child, 238 euros / 6 days for an adult, 142.5 euros / 6 days for a child. It is not necessary to bring your own skiing equipment, there is an equipment rental service in Seefeld, as well as many shops offering appropriate sportswear, shoes and accessories.

In addition to winter sports, Seefeld is also rich in less extreme entertainment. For example, you can visit the spas and thermal baths located in the city and its surroundings. The skiing areas and ski trails available to guests of the resort are aimed at athletes of intermediate level of training and beginners, to whom ski schools also offer their services. The resort is also popular with cross-country skiers, who have access to over 200 kilometers of beautiful trails that pass through very picturesque places. Directly on the territory of the resort there are 19 high-class trails, almost half of which are in the “red” category, and another 40% in the “blue” and “green” categories. There are also several “black” trails on the territory, the presence of which will certainly please high-class athletes and extreme sportsmen.

A significant part of the “blue” trails is located in the Rosshütte region, their total length is about 20 kilometers. Skiers who have already mastered the basics of skill will be more suitable for the Gschwandtkopf area, which has a decent selection of “blue” and “green” slopes. Travelers who come to the resort with children will find the Geigenbühel skiing area perfect, the slopes here are very gentle, they are served by three convenient lifts.

The Leutasch – Weidach area is perfect for family recreation, the height difference here is also relatively small and is just over 220 meters. Experienced skiers are attracted by the “red” track, which begins at the top of Harmelekopf. It is not without reason that it is considered one of the most difficult, as it runs along a very narrow and winding ridge. Fans of extreme entertainment are also attracted by another place – the slope of the Reither Spitze mountain. There is a 500-meter-long bobsleigh chute here, which was designed specifically for one of the Olympics. Currently, it is open to the public, visitors prefer to slide down it on the most ordinary car cameras.

The official opening of the ski season in Seefeld falls on the first half of December, the highest mountain slopes remain suitable for skiing until the beginning of March. A comfortable stay for resort guests is guaranteed thanks to the large number and variety of lifts, which will not be difficult to get to any area of ​​interest.

In total, there are more than 25 lifts operating in the Seefeld resort, one of the most popular among them is the Kreithlift. Next to it is a wonderful fun park, and therefore this area is almost never empty. The funicular of the same name, which starts near the eastern railway station, will take vacationers to the top of Rosshutte. Many popular trails start at the top of Harmelkopf, which can be reached by the Harmelkopfbahn cable car, and the Seefelder Jochbahn cable car takes athletes to the start of the wonderful “blue” trails at the top of Seefelder Joch.

The resort offers several types of ski passes, the most popular of which are the Seefeld Card and the Happy Ski Card.
