A large seaside resort in Turkey, Alanya increases in size several times every summer, if we take the number of people in the city as a unit of measurement. The reason for this is the popularity of the resort among Europeans. The city boasts excellent infrastructure, ancient history, which provides rich excursion opportunities, and, of course, clean sea. It is usually warmer in Alanya than in other Turkish resorts, and the swimming season here starts a week or even two earlier. The water temperature on the beaches of Alanya reaches + 26 ° C in the height of summer, but already in early May, mercury columns in the Mediterranean Sea rise to + 20 ° C, and hotels become crowded.

Choosing a beach in Alanya

In the Turkish ranking of the best beaches, Alanya invariably occupies one of the highest positions. The sea here is always clean and transparent, teams of responsible cleaners monitor the order on the shore, and the diverse infrastructure allows you to organize almost any type of vacation, while fitting into a very modest budget.

The coastal area near Alanya is conventionally divided into western and eastern. The conditional border is a stone cape. The list of the most popular recreation areas among tourists looks like this:

  • Cleopatra is one of the resort’s favorite beaches for guests. Its surface is sand with areas of small pebbles, which predominates at the entrance to the sea, thanks to which the water remains transparent even after the waves. Cleopatra is not very suitable for family vacations, because the entrance to the sea in this part of Alanya cannot be called gentle. Inexperienced swimmers should choose another area for swimming.
  • A quiet and calm sea is guaranteed to tourists vacationing on Keykubat Beach in the eastern part of the resort. Sand, shallow water and water that is well warmed up from early morning – an ideal combination of conditions for vacationing with kids.
  • A lot of active water entertainment awaits visitors to Damlatash Beach. Equipment rental points are open there until late in the evening. Young vacationers are attracted to this beach by equipped playgrounds.
  • The pebbles and sand covering Portakal Beach allow each visitor to choose a comfortable place to relax. Having thrown a towel on the sand or renting a sunbed on a rocky area, pay attention to the water attractions prepared for you by the Portakal staff.

Some of the beaches in the Alanya area belong to hotels, others are municipal. In the second case, you will not be charged an entrance fee and money will be needed only to rent sunbeds.

It is called Water Planet, and its organizers have provided opportunities for active recreation for visitors of all ages. The pool for the youngest guests is small, but the slides in it still cause storms of delight. Sea caves

Among other excursions in Alanya, a walk by sea to the Pirates’ Cave is booked more often than others. Legend has it that corsairs once hid stolen beauties and treasures in this grotto. In Turkish, the name of the huge underground hall sounds like “Karayin Maharasy”. This is the largest naturally formed cave in Turkey. The height of its vaults reaches 150 m. You can only get to the Pirates’ Cave by boat from the sea.
