For beginners, this is generally one of the best places in Poland and it is best for you to go here to gain experience. Karpacz has a sufficient number of training slopes, where rental points for the necessary ski equipment operate, as well as trained instructors who can teach a beginner the main basics of skiing in a relatively short time.
The resort is located at an altitude of 480 to 885 meters and is second in popularity after the most popular ski resort Zakopane. Back in the 19th century, this place was popular, and not only among the inhabitants of Poland. At the cable car stations there are not only ski equipment rental points, but also cafes, buffets, bars. Those who do not really like skiing can enjoy the descent along the toboggan runs (in Karpacz there are two toboggan runs, 800 and 1065 meters long).
In the center of Karpacz there is the Kolorowa sports and recreation center. This is an ideal place for beginner skiers. There are two slopes and two lifts. As in many other European ski resorts, snow problems are solved with the help of snow guns and preparations that allow the snow not to melt even at high temperatures.
Additional entertainment
In addition to skiing, winter vacationers will find many bars, restaurants, cafes and nightclubs here.
For children, there is a ski school with experienced instructors, and for those who did not have time to get their own equipment, there are rental points.
Of particular interest to guests of Karpacz is the town of cowboys, where you can ride horses, shoot a gun and even drink real whiskey.

Finally, for those who come to the resort in February, the administration organizes a very fun competition – a descent from the mountain “on what you can do”.
The city of gold and snow
Karpacz is a picturesque town, known since the 14th century as a gold-diggers’ village. It is located in the southeast of Poland, in the Karkonosze Mountains – the highest mountain range in the Sudeten Mountains. The spirit of the mountains – the giant Karkonosze – roamed these places, hence the name. Today, fascinating underground tourist routes have been laid in the former gold mines, hospitals have been located in the uranium mines, and Karpacz, located at the foot of Sniezka (1603 m), the highest mountain peak in the Sudeten Mountains, is considered one of the most attractive mountain resorts in Poland, despite the fact that, as people say, you can still meet the harmful Karkonosze here … Karpacz is a small town, only one street, and as many as 10 kilometers. It is divided into two parts: Karpacz Dolny (Lower Karpacz), where most of the hotels, guesthouses and restaurants are located, and Karpacz Gorny (Upper Karpacz), where the holiday homes are located. In the highest part, as a visiting card of the city, is the unique Viking chapel of Wang, made without a single nail. Created in the 12th century, in 1844 it was transported in chests from Norway and restored in Upper Karpacz. Everyone who enters stands spellbound in front of the magical runes that decorate the shrine. The Scandinavian Middle Ages captivates. And Karpacz is also a great starting point for hikes in the Karkonosze National Park. Six different (hiking, cycling, horseback riding, skiing) routes start right from the Wang Church, leading to Snężka – the main goal of most tourists. Snężka was the first of the European peaks chosen for climbing.
