Tre Valli in Italy is a large skiing area that combines several ski resorts. The largest of them is Moena, which attracts with its convenient location on the border of Tre Valli with the neighboring valley Valal-di-Fiemme, as well as noisy, fun entertainment. A little smaller is the picturesque Falcade, which lies on the other edge of Tre Valli and offers its guests all kinds of outdoor activities. And for those who go to the Dolomites for the sake of intense skiing, the village of Passo San Pellegrino in the heart of the “three valleys” is best suited.
This skiing area is considered the most peaceful in the Val di Fassaregion. There are not as many people here as in other resorts, and the prices are slightly lower. Having purchased a single “ski pass”, you can ski throughout the entire region, the total mileage of which is several hundred kilometers.
Among the numerous trails of Tre Valli, there are plenty of routes for beginners, professionals and intermediate skiers. Snowboarders, freeriders and extreme skiers, as well as fans of cross-country skiing, have at their disposal voluminous skiing areas where you can implement any ideas. The resort’s infrastructure is also developed at the highest level. Hotels, restaurants, entertainment venues and sports complexes offer their visitors a wide range of services throughout the day.

Business card
The name Tre Valli in Italian translates as “three valleys”: this area combines resorts located in three different valleys – Alpa di Luciana, Passo San Pellegrino and Falcade. The latter two are now connected into a single skiing area.
In the Tre Valli area, skiers have access to over 100 km of slopes (28 easy, 15 medium and 6 difficult, of which 45 km are equipped with snow cannons) with a total elevation difference of 1447 to 2513 meters. There are 27 ski lifts, and the infrastructure for children’s recreation is well developed – there is a Babylandia kindergarten and a snow park in the town of Valbona, a Costabella snow park in the village of the same name near the San Pellegrino pass, and a children’s ski park Cima Uomo.

- Moena is a small, pretty town that attracts tourists, firstly, with its real resort life, and secondly, with its convenient location, as it is here that the intersection of such beautiful skiing areas as Tre Valli, Val di Fassa and Val di Fiemme is located. There are no slopes or lifts in Moena itself. However, the nearest ski area, Alpa di Luciana, is only 3.5 km away, and there tourists can enjoy 36 km of slopes and several dozen lifts.
- Passo San Pellegrino is located halfway between Moena and Falcade and connects Tre Valli into a single chain of slopes and lifts. There are about 70 km of relatively easy “red-blue” slopes here, but the difficult Nero-40, Nero-41 and Nero-42 slopes also converge from the K-Margherita slopes adjacent to Falcade.
- Falcade is a much smaller town than Moena, but the lifts and slopes here are located practically within the city limits. Therefore, if a tourist has chosen Tre Valli as a place to relax, and the place of residence prefers a quiet one, far from noisy companies, then Falcade is just that. The visiting card of the area is the peak of C-Margherita (2500 m), the highest in the Tre Valli region), which lies behind the pass of the same name. A little lower, from C-Margherita to the Passo San Pellegrino Park, difficult “black” trails begin, the best of which is considered to be Rossignol-30.
- Alpa di Lucia has 30 km of trails, which are considered a paradise for beginners. From the Bellamonte side (from where it is easiest to get to this skiing area), a “blue” forest trail 3.2 km long and up to 70 meters wide starts from a height of 1969 meters. From the top of di Lucia, there are trails of variable profile, serviced by cannons, but also easy. And the slopes from the Moena side are of a more serious level. For example, the “black” Nero-5 with a length of 1200 meters has a drop of 442 meters, and the “black” slope in Ronchi has several rather difficult sections even for experienced skiers.

Slopes, slopes, lifts
The Alpa di Luziana ski area is located in the immediate vicinity of the city of Moena and forms a single whole with it. This area is considered one of the youngest in Val di Fassa and has not only well-groomed slopes, modern gondola and chairlifts, excellent ski schools, but also magnificent mountain landscapes, especially impressive in their beauty at sunset. Approximately 60% of the slopes in this area are designed for beginners and have wide and gentle slopes that are ideal for mastering the first skills. The remaining routes are divided into slopes of increased difficulty and those that are recommended exclusively for professionals. Skiing areas are also equipped for snowboarders. For children aged 3 to 5 years, a wonderful playground “Babylandia” has been created. A feature of the area is the absence of ski lifts directly on the territory of the town of Moena. The nearest station can be reached from the hotels by a free bus that runs regularly, where tourists are given the choice of which ski area of Val di Fassa to go to. The city itself is distinguished by its unusual elegance, and its cathedrals, traditional medieval bridges and low houses give it even more charm, which is enhanced in the evening, in the light of twinkling lights.

The second skiing area of the Tre Valli is Passo San Pellegrino. Unlike Moena, here the hotels and lifts are located very close to the mountain slopes, and the majestic Italian Alps appear before the resort guests in all their glory. The pristine slopes of the K-Margherita slopes, over rough terrain, bring special joy to professionals. However, there is also enough adrenaline for beginners and intermediate skiers. Territorially, Passo San Pellegrino is located between the regions of Trentino and Belluno, just 11 kilometers from the mysterious town of Moena. Just a few kilometers from the ski area, routes begin leading to places of combat glory of the Second World War. Therefore, in addition to breathtaking slopes and picturesque Alpine peaks, curious fans of winter sports can make an unforgettable excursion to historical places.

Passo San Pellegrino Ski Resort
The third ski area of the Tre Valli, Falcade, located at an altitude of 1100 meters above sea level, is perhaps the most versatile of all the resorts of the Three Valleys. It is located 45 kilometers from one of the most romantic cities in the world – Venice. Its characteristic features are the numerous winter sports that can be practiced here, as well as the wonderful SPA centers located in the resort area. Among the winter activities here, snowshoeing, snow tubing, ice skating, and wonderful sledding trails are especially popular. Those who wish can rent a snowmobile and make an unforgettable journey through the endless snowy plains. As for the ski slopes, the best trails for real “pros” are located between the K-Margherita peak and the Passo San Pellegrino Park. The remaining ski areas are suitable for both experienced skiers and beginners. The lifts are located in close proximity to the hotels, within the city limits. In general, Falcade has a reputation as a quiet, peaceful town, far from the hustle and bustle of big cities and glamorous resorts.

Entertainment and active recreation
Compared to the surrounding areas, Campitello and Canazei, Tre Valli is considered somewhat less prestigious, but its popularity does not suffer from this at all. Even in high season, with a massive influx of tourists, it is always cozy and comfortable here. The variety and large number of routes of varying degrees of difficulty allow skiers to ski in different directions, without creating high density in certain areas. The main object for entertainment and fun in the region is Moena. Local restaurants deserve special attention here, among which Rifugio Fuciade, Taverna del Garber, La Sfizio and Malga Panna stand out. The signature dish of the local cuisine is the cheese delicacy “Puzzone di Moena”. Combined with Italian music and an indescribable atmosphere, Moena becomes a real paradise corner of civilization, surrounded by countless snowy slopes. An example of a quiet and peaceful place to relax in the “Three Valleys” is Falcade.

Beautiful landscapes, developed infrastructure and high quality of the Tre Valli slopes are an integral feature of this ski resort. Although it is not yet as popular as some of the other resorts in Val di Fassa, thousands of winter sports enthusiasts come here every year, happily staying in the comfortable hotels of the Tre Valli resort areas and enjoying skiing among the picturesque mountain peaks of the Dolomites.
