Folgaria – comfortable for beginners and interesting for professionals

In the southeast of Trentino is Folgaria – a land of quiet villages and interesting slopes, the best place for those who have decided to relax with the whole family.

A proven skier, speaking of Folgaria, will first of all remember its wise slopes, the most interesting of which is Salizzona. A wide slope in the shape of a giant letter S, more than a kilometer long, connects Cima Dosso and the Folgaria plateau with a double bend. The slope is moderately steep – you descend 312 meters. But if you decide to ride this “red” track from the beginning to the very end, be prepared for surprises. Salizzona has a very unstable character, which is what guarantees this adrenaline-pumping ride: the terrain and angle of inclination are constantly changing. You will not only have a breathtaking descent, but also a small journey into the past: forts from the First World War have been preserved along the track. There is always excellent snow on the entire slope, because even if the weather presents an unpleasant surprise, numerous snow cannons will come to the rescue. It is therefore not surprising that international competitions are constantly held on this track, and the first giant slalom tournaments were held here – the legendary 3Tre. However, if you feel that you are not yet ready for such adventures, there is an easier track descending from the mountain near Salizzona.

There are also circular routes in Folgaria, such as the 125-kilometer “Skitour dei Forti” and the 100-kilometer “Ski Folgaria”. How long it takes you to ride them depends only on your qualifications. You won’t waste a single second on the lifts: the latest high-speed lifts are installed throughout the Folgaria ski area, which can’t have queues. These ultra-modern four-seater chairlifts will take you to the top in a matter of minutes!

Those who are able to get acquainted with the various routes of Folgaria quite quickly should buy a Superskirama ski pass, which will allow you to ski on the slopes of a dozen surrounding resorts and move between them by ski bus. And for beginners, the local slopes will be enough for a long time. Beginner athletes will slowly master the wisdom of skiing under the guidance of experienced teachers from numerous schools, where they are ready to teach everyone from small to large. Special instructors-educators will very quickly put your children on skis with the help of fun games, so do not be surprised if very soon the heirs will start skiing much more confidently than you.

If most adults prefer to relax in the sauna after skiing, then for young skiers everything is in vain: they also need active recreation in the evenings. Folgaria will be able to satisfy everyone’s wishes, because the resorts have wonderful spa centers, ice rinks, and many other entertainment for people of all ages. And someone may want to change the mountain landscapes to wooded plains and go cross-country skiing in the vicinity of Millegrobe, Passo Descio or Forte Curle.

The road to Folgaria will not tire even the smallest children. From the airports of Verona, Bergamo, Venice and Treviso, it is very convenient to get to this area by special Fly ski shuttle bus. A ticket costs 18 euros, round trip – 30 euros, and if a child is under 12 years old and is accompanied by two adults, he can travel with you absolutely free.
