Skiing in Galtür is attractive not only for lovers of calm “prepared” tourist skiing: there are as many as 4 virgin skiing zones. Galtür is not included in the top ten most popular resorts with virgin skiing solely because of the calm evening program after skiing.

The winter season in Galtür lasts from December to April. As in most mountainous regions of Austria, it is accompanied by a lot of snowfall and stable weather conditions. Severe frosts are rare here, and the soft fluffy snow not only contributes to good skiing, but also surprisingly complements the overall picture of natural landscapes, which captivate with their diversity and add fresh emotions while skiing
Resort description
The traditional Alpine village of Galtur, located at an altitude of 1600 m in the Paznaun Valley, has long been a favorite of beginner skiers and lovers of virgin skiing. This is one of the most environmentally friendly places among the peaks of the Silvretta massif. From here, you can get to the famous ski resort of Ischgl in just 15-20 minutes by bus. The bus is free only for those who have purchased a special Silvretta ski pass – for all skiing regions of the Paznaun Valley. One of the advantages of the resort is the opportunity to stay in good quality hotels at a reasonable price and ski in the Ischgl – Samnaun area. Galtur has its own ski area called Silvapark, which is divided into 6 sectors designed for different levels of training. From afar, guests of the resort are greeted by the bell tower of the local parish church. Behind it rises the majestic Hausberg mountain, on the top of which is the Ballunspitze peak. 17 comfortable and very interesting trails run along its slopes.
The skiing season in Galtur lasts, like in many other Austrian resorts, from December to April. The altitude difference here is 1584-2297 m. The resort has 40 km of ski trails, including easy – 6 km, medium – 24 km, difficult – 10 km. Thanks to the gondola cable car, skiers and snowboarders can easily and quickly reach all the slopes. You can also climb the slopes using three chairlifts and six tow lifts.
For snowboarders, the skiing area has a fun park with a half-pipe (from 80 m), jumps and boarder cross. The resort has not forgotten about children. A 200-meter illuminated toboggan run has been prepared for them, and there is a ski school and club.

In addition, Galtür has excellent conditions for pristine skiing. Cross-country ski trails stretch for 74 km, of which more than 18 km are at an altitude of 2040 m.
Active recreation enthusiasts can enjoy an ice rink, horseback riding, bowling, hiking, and paragliding at the resort. You can also use the services of a modern sports club with a swimming pool and a fitness center.
Galtur Resort is the complete opposite of its neighbor Ischgl. They don’t throw loud parties here, but you can always spend an evening in one of the local restaurants, bars, or cafes, enjoying the warm, cozy, and peaceful atmosphere. And Galtur is simply created for lovers of comfortable skiing and pristine snow.
Accommodation
As accommodation in Galtür, tourists are provided with a fairly wide choice of hotels, apartments and cottages, for every taste and budget. Unlike Ischgl and many other Austrian ski resorts, the prices for accommodation, as well as for “ski passes”, are much lower here and allow you to make your vacation quite economical. At the same time, all hotels are well equipped and fully meet the highest European standards. In the low season, the resort is usually visited by Austrians, and when the turn of the Christmas holidays comes, the hotel rooms begin to be filled quite briskly with foreigners. On New Year’s Eve, the Alpine village lights up with the light of multi-colored bulbs and lanterns, and locals go out into the street to collectively celebrate the main event of the year. On such days, it is especially fun here, although the noise and fireworks from Ischgl can be heard here, making the holiday even brighter and more lively.
The Alpenromantik Wirlerhof is located right next to the Birkhahn lift station in the Silvretta-Galtur ski area. The cable cars and ski schools are right opposite the hotel.

The Wirlerhof offers rooms and suites decorated in traditional Tyrolean style, a fireplace room with a bar, a sun terrace, and an underground car park.
The restaurant serves regional and international cuisine with products from the hotel’s own farm. There is also a ski restaurant with an après-ski bar.
The 800 m² spa area features an indoor pool with a hot tub and a children’s pool, a modern gym, and a large sauna area. Various massages, baths, and ancient Indian medicine treatments are also available.
The Ischgl-Samnaun ski area is 10 km away. The free ski bus stops right outside the hotel.
In summer, the Alpenromantik Wirlerhof is an ideal base for hiking and mountain biking.
Starting in summer 2013, the Silvretta All Inclusive Card will be included in the price of all apartment categories during the summer season. This card entitles you to free use of the region’s cable cars and buses from Landeck to Bielerhoch, as well as free use of the indoor/outdoor pools and the lake in the Paznaun Valley.
The location of this property is one of the best in Galthür! Guests are more satisfied with it than the location of other options in the area.
Couples especially like the location.
