3. Falkensteiner Resort Capo Boi

The Falkensteiner Resort Capo Boi* is located on the south coast of Sardinia, around 10 kilometers from Villasimius. The hotel is set in a quiet private bay with a fine sandy beach – perfect for those who want to relax directly by the sea. In our opinion, the Abi d’Oru is ideal for couples, families, or anyone simply looking for a comfortable hotel with a direct beach location and Sardinian flair.

5. Baglioni Resort Sardinia

The Baglioni Resort Sardinia* is located on the northeast coast and is one of the most popular beach hotels. The location is quiet and particularly beautiful, overlooking one of the island’s most impressive coastal landscapes. The resort is part of The Leading Hotels of the World and is accordingly high-quality.

The rooms and suites are modern, stylish, and very spacious—many with a terrace or private garden. Some even offer direct sea views. The resort has a flat, light sandy beach, which you can reach in a few minutes on foot. There is also a large pool with sun loungers and a well-equipped spa area with a sauna, steam bath, and treatments.

The culinary offerings here are also of a high standard: In addition to the main restaurant, there is a fine-dining restaurant with a Michelin star—perfect for special evenings. We recommend a trip to the small village of San Teodoro. The small coastal town is just a few kilometers away and offers a good selection of restaurants, bars, and ice cream parlors.

6. Hotel Aquadulci

The Hotel Aquadulci* is located in southern Sardinia, very close to Chia – a region known for its long, almost Caribbean-like sandy beaches. The popular Su Giudeu Beach is just a few minutes’ walk from the hotel. The hotel is small, quiet, and decorated in a natural style—with lots of wood, warm colors, and an open, airy design.

The rooms are bright and simple, with terracotta floors and views of the garden, pool, or sea. Some also have a small terrace. The beach is reached via a small path through a wetland with flamingos—a real highlight. If you prefer to stay at the hotel, you can relax by the beautiful pool with sunbathing lawn.

Good to know for your trip to Sardinia

☀️ Best time to travel: May to October – with July and August as the peak season. In June or September, it’s often quieter, but still summery warm. Getting there: The largest airports are in Olbia, Cagliari, and Alghero. Depending on where you want to go, it’s worth landing nearby. Flights are relatively inexpensive depending on the month you travel. Airlines include Ryanair, Easyjet, and Eurowings.

Rental car: If you want to see more than just one place, almost nothing can be done without a rental car. Many fine sandy beaches and hotels can only be reached by car. Book a rental car here*.

Regions: The Costa Smeralda in the northeast is known for its luxury and celebrity flair. In the south, you’ll find quieter, expansive beaches. The west is wilder and less touristy. Ideal if you like nature.

Round trip: Sardinia is large and diverse – perfect for a road trip. If you have time, a round trip with several stops is worthwhile. It’s best to plan at least 10-14 days.
