And yes, this works for BVLGARI, EDITION, Ritz-Carlton, Ritz-Carlton Reserve, and St. Regis stays.
So, we landed in New York for a couple of nights and bunked at the brand-spanking-new Ritz-Carlton New York NoMad. With its 250 rooms, opened in 2022, it’s one of the city’s latest gems.
Going In with Low Hopes
I went in expecting a typical “cookie cutter” Ritz-Carlton experience, with a slight hint of identity crisis—let’s not even start on my reservations about American service standards.
Boy, was I wrong! NoMad Ritz-Carlton knocked my socks off! A modern vibe, top-tier food in cahoots with José Andrés, glorious cityscapes, and zingy service. It’s not flawless, but it’s among the best I’ve chilled in stateside in ages, and I’m definitely booking again!
A Fresh Take on Lux
On a broader level, this hotel might just be the prototype needed to modernize the Ritz brand. Marriott seems to be pushing EDITION for that swanky young crowd appeal—and the steep luxury pricing with the dining emporium focus isn’t vibing as much. NoMad, though, feels like a Ritz-EDITION love child, and I’m not complaining.
Booking the Ritz-Carlton New York NoMad
I cashed in Bonvoy points for this stay—103,000 points per night, which tongues out to over $700 in my books. Bonvoy’s hopped on the dynamic pricing train, so a pokey glance shows rates from 94,000 to 156,000 per night for your basic room. Stay a bit longer and they throw in the fifth night free for award redeemers!
Paying Cash? Here’s The Drill
Ritz-Carlton NoMad has cash rates between $750 and $1,500 per night. Yep, it’s steep, but not quite skyscraper high as other top properties which regularly hit over $1,500. If you’re paying cash, I’d suggest the Marriott STARS program for that juicy free breakfast, room upgrade, and a $100 property credit. Bonvoy elite status doesn’t cover the breakfast, so STARS is your best bet here.

Location, Location, Location
NoMad is where you’ll find this beauty! Right at 25 W 28th St., between Broadway, 5th, and 6th Aves. Everyone has their spots, but I’m a fan. It’s a neat hub to explore the city either uptown or downtown. A subway stop right by the entrance is just the cherry on top. The weather was fab, and we walked almost everywhere!
The Arrival Story
The hotel’s freshly erected 40-floor structure hums with the aroma of luxury. Guest rooms are sprinkled across floors 14 to 37, with 16 penthouse pads crowning the edifice.
In an interesting twist during our stay, the Boston Celtics made the hotel their den. Barriers unveiled themselves, and a gaggle of fans popped up. Almost made me question my own vertical stature amidst these giants!
Lobby Check-In Shenanigans
Compact yet snazzy, the Ritz-Carlton lobby greets with verdant plants and a flower-laden cart cosied by a grand sofa. Venture left, and the front desk looms with four stand-ready-to-serve podiums.
Security was hawk-eyed, albeit the Celtics stay. That aside, the venue swells with non-guests in the afternoons, presumably there for José Andrés’ alluring culinary creations.
The Room Experience
A slightly-more-space Manhattan Room, up on floor 30, awaited us. With a compact layout, the room screamed chic. 420 square foot of elegance with a king bed, couch oasis, TV, sans et marṇa!
The sight rolling from our window was picture-perfect with a view of downtown, Freedom Tower, and the Statue of Liberty peeking from the horizon.
Bathroom, Minibar, and Amenities
The bathroom was a suite with double sinks, a soak-worthy tub, throne-room toilet, and a spacious shower. Complimentary Diptyque toiletries adorned the shelves, bringing a sense of indulgence. They even threw in a welcome treat—a delightful apple pastry, sweetened with Saratoga water. Just wow!
Spa and Gym
The spa, in all its full-service grandeur, sprawls with eight treatment rooms. Gym bunnies are sorted with a comprehensive mix of cardio and weights—albeit windowless, but it’s all muscles and zen inside.
Bar and Dining Wonderland
Feeling peckish? José Andrés teams up with the Ritz-Carlton to serve up a storm—Bazaar by José Andrés, Lobby Lounge, Bazarr Bar, Zaytinya, and Nubeluz Rooftop bar. Which way will you indulge?
Final Thoughts
Ritz-Carlton New York NoMad rises high as a top-tier city hotel. While Bonvoy perks might be less starry, and the absence of a pool nudges some, the place has soul. Smooth, flawless service marks the experience, and I’m sold for another round here. Thoughts? Have you flirted with Ritz-Carlton New York NoMad or let yourself be carried away at Val Seny ski resort?
