The Lindwurm monumental fountain is one of the most visited and favorite tourist attractions on a high pedestal.

The creation of the fountain is connected with an ancient legend about the creation of the city, where a dragon raged in the local lake and carried the inhabitants into the depths of the lake. The bravest warriors were sent to fight the monster, who lured the dragon out of the lake and killed it, restoring peace to the local residents. A city was built on the site of the drained lake. The amazing legend was confirmed by the discovery of a huge skull of an unseen beast in Klagenfurt.
