Sea in Antalya

Sea in Antalya

The pearl of the Turkish coast, Antalya was located on the hospitable shores of the Mediterranean Sea. Turkey’s most dynamically developing resort receives millions of vacationers every year, for which excellent conditions have been created. High service, a variety of services, a great historical heritage, stunning natural potential and the cleanest sea in Antalya are the main reasons for such impressive success of the resort on the world tourist stage.

The urban estates are located in the south of the country, in the zone of subtropical Mediterranean climate. This gave the region a dry, hot summer and a mild, wet winter – the Antalya Riviera has warm, friendly weather all year round. If in winter the temperature does not drop below 10-15 ° above zero, opening space for walks and excursions, in summer the heat outside is 30 ° and above, making the sea coast with first-class beaches the center of attraction.

The bathing season in the town lasts for six months, from May to the end of October, and sometimes extends to November itself. Already in May, the sea reliably warms up to 20-22 °, and in the first weeks of summer it reaches a mark of 25-28 °. A warm sea and a clean sandy beach are the best solution for children’s recreation.

The Mediterranean Sea in Antalya and nearby resorts is quite calm, although it pampers vacationers with frequent waves, but not very large ones, and there are practically no currents near the shore. Let’s add to this a shallow bottom with an even depth, high transparency of water, absence of strong currents.

Rest and beaches in Antalya

A distinctive feature of the resort is the fact that it is located on a high rocky shore, rising almost 40 meters above the sea. Therefore, the beaches do not run in a continuous strip, as in other areas, but periodically cut the shores, alternating with rocky capes.

The greatest popularity was earned by several zones, maximally adapted for recreation.

Lara.

Beach Park.

Adalar.

Trample

Marble.

These and other areas of the coast are equipped not only with necessary amenities, but also with such pleasant bonuses as cafes, restaurants, sports and playgrounds.

In addition to a classic beach holiday, sea attractions are offered – bananas, plates, floating rings, jet skis, water parachutes, catamarans, water skiing. And in some places, surfers and lovers of water sports have caught a glimpse of cozy towns. You can play beach volleyball, go kayaking, snorkel, go sailing and enjoy all the entertainment that the sea in Antalya has to offer.

Most of the sea beaches are sandy, but there are also pebbly areas. The territories are divided between hotels, municipal beaches are free for all vacationers. Beach fees are charged only for renting sunbeds.

Inhabitants of the sea

Sea in Antalya

The Mediterranean Sea in Antalya does not shine with diversity or any outstanding features. It is characterized by typical marine vegetation in the form of colorful algae, for example, diatoms or peridine.

Inhabitants of the sea depths are represented by various types of ornamental fish, industrial fish, crustaceans, mollusks, crabs, jellyfish, stingrays. Three-needle stickleback, tuna and, of course, dolphins are found here. A much greater variety of forms of marine life is offered by the resort aquarium, where 10,000 representatives of aquatic fauna from all over the world are collected.

There are interesting rock formations and caves under the water, in small quantities, but they are still found in different areas of the water area.

Diving

Despite the rather banal underwater world, there are many diving centers in Antalya and its surroundings that offer various services from initial training to complex dives and with the provision of transport and equipment. Thanks to the not very complex underwater landscape and the absence of strong currents, the area is ideal for beginners and first dives.

Despite the crazy popularity of the beaches, the sea in Antalya is far from the only type of recreation, and how could it be otherwise, when the city has a centuries-old history and dozens of unique sights. Here you can visit the Khydirlyk Tower , pass through the ancient Roman Hadrian’s Gate , admire the pointed minarets, explore the treasures of the Archaeological Museum and have fun in one of the several water parks.
