The resort is not so much a ski resort as a winter resort. Here is a paradise for cross-country skiing – it was in Seefeld that the competitions of two Olympics were held. Two local small skating areas will delight even beginners or older skaters. However, the single ski pass, which includes six villages, has a total of more than 200 km of tracks and allows those for whom 20 minutes on a ski bus is not a problem to relax properly.

The most convenient way to get to Seefeld is from Innsbruck, which is located 25 km from the resort. Planes fly to Innsbruck all year round from Lviv with a short stopover in Vienna or Frankfurt, and in winter there are direct flights, the flight time of which is just over 2 hours.
You can get to Seefeld from Innsbruck in different ways. Among the options for public transport, it can be an electric train that runs from the main railway station of Innsbruck to Seefeld every half hour, the travel time will be a little more than 30 minutes.
If you are traveling with a lot of luggage, you can get to the resort by taxi or order a transfer in advance.
For independent travelers, such an option as renting a car is also suitable. You can rent a car right at Innsbruck airport, offices of 9 different service providers are open here. There are rental offices in the center of Innsbruck. If necessary, you can reserve the desired car in advance. The class of the type of armored car can be different from a small to an SUV. If you consider Seefeld primarily as a ski resort, then you should keep in mind that vacationing here is more suitable for beginner and intermediate level skiers than for professionals. A large ski school consisting of more than 150 instructors is organized here for beginners. Seefeld is also suitable for cross-country skiing. The resort itself is located in the foothills of the Alps and is surrounded by the Gschwandtkopf mountain and the Rosshütte mountain peaks, which is where the skiing areas are equipped. The mountain Gschwandtkopf has a height of 1500 meters and is suitable for skiing for beginners.
The Rosshütte mountain peaks have different heights and several levels of difficulty for skiing. In addition, there are areas for halfpipe, as well as a fan park. You can find tracks of higher difficulty in the nearby German resort of Garmisch-Partenkirchen, located 40 km from Seefeld. You can get there by train or by car along route No. B2.
The maximum ascent on the Seefeld pistes is 2101 m, the total number of pistes is 19, the total number of lifts is 25, the longest pist is 5 km long, and there is equipment for night skiing. Skiing areas and ski tracks available to resort guests are aimed at athletes of intermediate level of training and beginners, to whom ski schools also offer their services. Fans of cross-country skiing will also like the resort, which has more than 200 kilometers of beautiful trails that pass through very picturesque places. Directly on the territory of the resort there are 19 high-class tracks, almost half of which belong to the “red” category, and another 40% to the “blue” and “green” categories. There are also several “black” tracks on the territory, the presence of which will certainly please high-class athletes and extreme athletes.
A significant part of the “blue” tracks is located in the Rosshütte region, their total length is about 20 kilometers. Skiers who have already mastered the basics of skill are better suited to the Gschwandtkopf area, which has a decent selection of “blue” and “green” slopes. The Geigenbühel ski area is perfect for travelers who come to the resort with children, the slopes here are very gentle, and they are served by three convenient lifts.
The Leutasch – Weidach area is perfect for family vacations, the height difference here is also relatively small and amounts to just over 220 meters. Experienced skiers are attracted by the “red” track, which starts at the top of Harmelekopf. It is not without reason that it is considered one of the most difficult, as it passes along a very narrow and winding ridge. Fans of extreme entertainment are also attracted to another place – the slope of the Reither Spitze mountain. There is a 500-meter-long bobsled chute, which was specially designed for one of the Olympics. Currently, it is available for visiting, visitors prefer to roll on it with the most ordinary car cameras.
The official opening of the ski season in Seefeld takes place in the first half of December, the high-altitude tracks themselves remain suitable for skiing until the beginning of March. A comfortable rest for the guests of the resort is guaranteed thanks to the large number and variety of lifts, on which it will not be difficult to get to any area of interest.
In total, there are more than 25 lifts operating in the Seefeld resort , Kreithlift remains one of the most popular among them. There is a great fan park next to it, so this area is almost never empty. The funicular of the same name, which starts near the eastern railway station, will take vacationers to the top of Rosshutte. Many popular trails start at the top of Harmelkopf, which can be reached by the Harmelkopfbahn cable car, and the Seefelder Jochbahn cable car takes athletes to the start of the wonderful “blue” trails on the top of Seefelder Joch.
