Fulpmes is the largest settlement in the Stubaital valley, a climatic and ski resort. Its special charm is given by turbulent mountain streams, falling from the surrounding rocks with noise and splashes.

This village was known already in the Middle Ages, first of all, for its crafts. Already in the 15th century, the products of blacksmiths from Fulpmes were famous all over the world. Fulpmes is rightly proud of its historic center, with traditional shops and bars, and its own Schlick 2000 skating area .

At any time of the year, Fulpmes offers excellent opportunities for recreation. Mountaineering, horseback riding, tennis (16 open and 4 indoor courts), sports halls, swimming pool, paragliding, glacier descent and much more are at the service of tourists. And, of course, romantic trips to the top of the mountains. Those who do not like to walk, but also want to admire the panorama of the surrounding mountains and breathe in the intoxicating mountain air, can very easily and quickly climb the cable car.

Back in autumn, on the eve of winter, national ski teams start their training here. The skiing season lasts from December to April.

The resort has ski schools and kindergartens, as well as a children’s ski school.

In addition to the most modern lifts and a wide variety of ski runs, mountain restaurants, cozy mountain huts, skating rinks, a ski school for children and adults, guests of Fulpmes can enjoy a colorful and fun ski festival. And in the evenings, there are many bars, restaurants and discos at their service.

How to get there

Public transport: from Innsbruck airport take a bus to Innsbruck Westbahnhof railway station. Then, at the train station, change to a bus or tram “Stubaitalbahn” and get to the village of Fulpmes. In addition, you can visit all the ski resorts of the Stubai Valley by bus.

The miniature resort is served by 10 lifts, thanks to which you can move freely between different areas. Fans of cross-country skiing are also presented with a decent selection of attractive tracks, they have a total length of 18.5 km. The length of the Fulpmes – Kampl track is 4 km, and the highest mountain track is the Skiwanderloipe, which is 3.4 km long. Travelers who have long dreamed of learning how to snowboard have access to a wonderful fan park and a half pipe, and qualified trainers offer their services to beginners.

The ski resort Schlick 2000 will definitely appeal to economical travelers, the price of a ski pass here remains affordable even in the height of the tourist season. The cost of a one-day pass for an adult in the high season is about 34 euros, the resort has a flexible system of discounts. Children aged 10 to 14 can count on a 50% discount, and teenagers aged 15 to 18 and seniors aged 65 and over receive discounts of 20-30%. The optimal way to save will be to purchase a season ticket for 6 or 13 days, in which case its cost without taking into account any discounts will be 178 and 300 euros, respectively.

The infrastructure of the winter resort is supplemented by first-class ski schools, among which there are specialized schools for children. Vacationers can diversify their ski trips by visiting ice rinks and sports complexes that provide services to vacationers all year round. Numerous restaurants and nightclubs await guests of the resort in the evening. Family holidays with children in Fulpmes. Where to go, what to show the child

Fulpmes is a place that is more likely to be liked by children who are active and in love with sports than quiet fans of modern gadgets. Although there is something to see here for those who prefer leisurely tours of museums and studying architectural monuments. After all, the city has been deservedly proud of its blacksmiths and craftsmen for half a millennium. There is a museum of blacksmithing that is interesting for both children and adults. In addition to the history of the emergence of this now rare craft, the child will be able to learn many tools used by blacksmiths of the past.

There is another unusual museum in the city, where you can go with your child. This is a museum of Christmas nativity scenes. Of course, inquisitive children will not spend as much time here as studying the blacksmith’s bellows, but the Christmas scenes will be understandable even to toddlers. If your child is interested in history, then it is worth walking together along the streets of Fulpmes – there are many really old and beautiful buildings. There is an opportunity to join a group tour of the city, which is held in both German and English. Perhaps the child will be interested in the idea of ​​taking a ride on the Stubaitalbahn tram to Innsbruck.

Be sure to walk with your child along the ecological path in the local adventure park. Here, the child will be able to get acquainted with all the main types of alpine flora and fauna, and besides, take dozens of beautiful photos – the views from the trail are simply stunning. There is also a small grotto where you can stop and rest, and several dozens of climbing routes, among which there are also simple ones that even a preschooler can master, and they require a lot of physical training. There are also several interesting rope routes for those who are not afraid of heights.

If the child likes beautiful views, then it is worth going up on the Schlick 2000 cable car to the last station Kreuzjoch. There is an observation deck from which you can see the Kalkkögel mountain range and the Stubai and Inntal valleys. If a child knows how to ride a bicycle and is interested in mountain biking, then it is worth renting a two-wheeled vehicle in the city and going to conquer the district. There are many tracks here, there are both simple and really difficult ones, where only those children who have been riding a mountain bike for more than one year should go. There are several dozen hiking routes near Fulpmes , many of which are suitable for children.

If you want your child to be supervised around the clock and communicate with peers, then pay attention to the BIG Family Stubai summer club. You can bring a child from five to thirteen years old who knows at least the basics of English, and preferably German. There is a lot of entertainment in the club – these are games on the closed playground, and educational activities, and watching cartoons, and riding a pony, and separate animation programs for different age groups. If the child is interested in horses, you can go for a horse ride together. A child of any age will like this pastime. The main thing is to start with not very long routes.
