Japan Airlines Expands Its A350-1000 Routes
Heads up: We’ve got a juicy update for you: Between February 12 and March 29, 2025, Japan Airlines is putting its A350-1000 on the Tokyo Haneda to Singapore route. That’s the inaugural intra-Asia journey for this stunning piece of aviation engineering.
Japan Airlines is mixing up their long-haul game. They’re trading in their old Boeing 777-300ER workhorses for the fancy Airbus A350-1000s. If you haven’t had the pleasure yet, let me tell you, the A350 is like the super-luxury car of the sky. Not only is it a breeze to fly in, but Japan Airlines’ versions are decked out with shiny new passenger experiences.
I’ve tried Japan Airlines’ A350 first and business classes, and wow, they are top-tier, right up there with the crème de la crème of global air travel. Want to book yourself a seat using miles? I’ve got a guide just for that.
Current Line-Up of A350-1000 Routes
So, where can you catch a ride on one of these beauties? Currently, Japan Airlines is running A350-1000s on four daily flights over three routes. They’ve got even more destinations lined up, and it looks like they’ll need to buy some more highlighters to map out all the new routes.
A quick tip: Don’t confuse these A350-1000s with the A350-900s, which are doing the local runs in Japan. Different plane, different game.
Japan Airlines’ A350-1000 Fleet Progress
The airline has opened its arms to seven shiny new A350-1000s, with more to come. There are six more still awaiting their debut. Running down memory lane, here’s their fleet so far:
- JA01WJ flew from Toulouse to Tokyo in December 2023
- JA02WJ joined the club in January 2024
- JA03WJ made its way home in March 2024
- JA04WJ arrived on a hot July day in 2024
- JA05WJ landed in August 2024

Oh, by the way, JA07WJ is chilling out in storage for now, but should hit the skies soon. And keep your eyes peeled for JA09WJ, still rolling off the production line.
When can you expect more planes? They’re aiming to have 11 ready to fly by the end of Japan’s fiscal year in March 2026. The plan is a full roll-out by 2028, with the entire lineup ready to go, just in time to bid the 777-300ERs farewell.
