Zelenets is a popular Sudeten skiing center in the Orlytskyi Mountains, located in the southwest of the Klodskaya basin, on the northeastern slopes of the peaks of Sherlich (1025 m) and Zeleny, Garb (1026 m). This ski paradise, called the Polish Switzerland, is located in the eastern Sudetenland, in the Klodzka Basin at an altitude of 950 m above sea level, near the famous health resorts of Kudowa Zdrój and Dushniki Zdrój.

The border with the Czech Republic runs directly along the Orlytsky ridge.

Zelenets has a reputation as a “family” ski center that offers accommodation in private small, cozy and comfortable guesthouses.

Despite the crowds of vacationers, there are almost no queues at the lifts. As befits a famous ski center, it is full of all kinds of points that provide services to skiers. Service prices are average (for Polish mountains).

Climate

The local microclimate corresponds to the alpine one at an altitude of two thousand meters. Near the border with the Czech Republic, on the spacious northern slopes of the Orlytsky ridge, trails of various levels of difficulty are laid out, and evening skiing is practiced. An ideal option for families with children, it is possible to combine it with medical procedures and rest “on the water”.

Zelenets is distinguished by a specific beneficial microclimate (unique of its kind in Poland).

Zelenets is great for family vacations and vacations with children. Zelenets ski tracks are very diverse and good for both beginners and well-trained skiers and snowboarders.

Slopes and lifts

The slopes of Zelentsy are a true paradise for skiers and snowboarders. Some Zelenka trails are also good for beginner skiers and safe skiing for children. The tracks are connected by thirty lifts into a single network with a length of about 14.5 km and a transport capacity of 11 thousand people / hour. Tracks vary in difficulty – from very easy to difficult. There are 8 tracks for night skiing and a snow park.

The skiing range is 900-1,025 m, the height difference is 280 m. Zelenka has 34 trails (11 red, 17 blue, 6 green) with a total length of 14.5 km. Many of them are equipped with snow cannons and have evening lighting. The resort has 6 multi-lifts, a snow park, a half pipe, rails, ski jumps, 1,400 and 2,500 m cross-country skiing tracks. 29 lifts with a capacity of 11,000 people per hour are at the service of tourists.

7 ski schools are open in the town, there are 2 snowboard schools, you can use the services of a private instructor. Equipment rental is also available at the resort.

The cost of a ski pass for one day for adults / children is PLN 75/70, for six days – PLN 400/350. 1 euro = 3.9 Polish zlotys.

  

Among the ski tracks, you can find suitable ones for both aces and those who are taking their first steps on skis. Lifts operate from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with artificial lighting until late dusk. And only one lift is inaccessible to tourists – soldiers and border guards learn to drive there.

The slopes of Zelentsy are excellent, well-maintained ski tracks and the large amount of snow in the winter period (1300 mm during the year, of which 40% falls from November to March) contributes to the fact that the snow lies here up to 150 days a year.

How to get there

The nearest airports: Wroclaw (Poland) – 130 km, Prague (Czech Republic) – 130 km (Czech visa required). It is possible to travel by rail to Wrocław.

Apres-Ski and infrastructure

As part of a tour of the surrounding area, visit the settlement of Kudova Zdroj, it is located 12 km from Zelenka. On its territory there is a unique Salt Cave, in which anyone can have a relaxation session.

Kudowa Zdrój is also famous for its water entertainment center – Water World Water Park. You will have swimming pools, artificial rivers, as well as a sauna, a jacuzzi and a room for biological regeneration at your disposal. A beautician and massage therapist offer their services in the water park, there is also a bowling alley and a restaurant.

In Wroclaw, you will find Chopin’s mansion museum, where the famous composer lived and worked, and the mysterious Table Mountains.

There are also bars, cafes and restaurants nearby where you can taste national cuisine or just relax after skiing. The skating rink has been operating since 2008. For lovers of night entertainment, a disco is open in Zelenka. In general, life in the village is calm and measured.

Water World Water Park, Kudowa Zdrój (12 km from Zelenka). In addition to swimming pools and an artificial river, the services of vacationers include a sauna, a jacuzzi, a biological regeneration room, a massage therapist, a beautician, as well as a restaurant and a bowling alley.

Where to stay

Zelenets is a family ski resort, it accommodates vacationers in equipped hotels-boarding houses and apartments located in the town and its surroundings.

To accommodate tourists, boarding houses for 20-80 people are located not far from the ski slopes.
