Montenegro is known to everyone as a country of summer resorts, sea, beaches and warmth. And among our mountaineers, few people know that ski tourism has been developing in the mountains of Montenegro for many years. Montenegro in winter also has its own charm, and it has something to please lovers of alpine skiing. Kolasin is one of the two ski resorts in Montenegro. And, perhaps, the most developed and equipped resort.
The slopes of the ski resort “Kolashin 1450” are located 10.5 km from the city of Kolashina, and the slopes of “Kolashin 1600” are 13 km away.
Ski resort
This resort was built back in the Yugoslav era. But it was developed quite modestly, because the main ski resort of Montenegro was Žabljak, and in neighboring Serbia there is the famous Kopaonik. In 2008, investment company Beppler & Jacobson drew attention to Kolashyn. Here they completely changed the two large hotels Bianka and Lipka (now Four Points), turning them into beautiful large 4* hotels. Together with the hotels, the ski resort was bought, which was later completely remodeled and reorganized. Now this resort meets all modern European quality and safety standards.
Thanks to small altitude differences and a variety of trails, the Kolasin ski resort is ideal for both beginners and intermediate skiers. However, even an experienced rider will find something interesting for himself: freestyle tracks and a bit of wilderness. But absolutely every guest of the Kolashyn resort will be fascinated by the beauty of these places. So that everyone will be satisfied.
Climatic conditions in the winter season
The resort is equipped with a system of artificial snow on the slopes at the foot of the slopes, which ensures a ski season from the end of December / beginning of January and the season ends in April. The weather in winter is quite favorable and has a lot of sun and no heavy snowfall. Guests will be especially pleased with the fact that there are practically no cold winds, avalanches are extremely rare, and the thermometer never shows a mark lower than -9 C °.
The height of the snow is approximately 1-3 meters, which has a favorable effect on the tracks. Tourists will be especially pleased with the beautiful slopes of the mountains. Their slope is 25-45 ° C, and also the grass “covering” will allow you to ride with a small height of snow. The period from mid-January to mid-March is considered the snowiest months in Kolasin.
