From the point of view of location in relation to Sarajevo, the ski resort of Beliasnica (distance of 25 kilometers) is most conveniently located . But convenient location is not the only advantage of this resort. Just like the famous ski resort of Yahorina, the Winter Olympic Games were held here in 1984.
The height of the mountain of the same name, Bjelašnica, is 2067 meters, and according to these indicators, it is among the ten highest mountains in Bosnia. Natural snow lies at this resort for about two hundred days a year. The ski season usually starts around mid-November and lasts until mid-April. To maintain the snow cover, special snow cannons are installed, there is a lighting system for night skiing, ski schools, ski lifts and rental points for all the necessary ski equipment are operating. Lovers of hiking and hiking will be satisfied, special hiking routes have been laid out for them. The resort is considered one of the most rapidly developing in Bosnia, thanks to investors, new hotels, restaurants and infrastructure are being developed.
This is the highest ski resort in Bosnia and Herzegovina with the steepest slopes.
How to get there
There are two ways to get there by car from Sarajevo – via Hadzic or Krupac.
In winter, there are two buses.
Climate
The average annual temperature is 0.7 degrees due to severe winter frosts, the recorded minimum is -41 degrees. In summer, the temperature does not rise above 24 degrees. There are strong winds.
The height of the snow cover is on average 135 cm, and sometimes up to 3 meters. Snow lasts up to 200 days a year.
In case of insufficient snow, there are snow cannons.
Tracks
Traditionally, the ski season usually lasts from December 15 to April 15. It happens that the slopes are ready to receive skiers and snowboarders already in November. The average height of the snow at the top is 135 cm. The total length of the tracks reaches 20 km. There are 3 green tracks, 4 blue, 5 red and 1 black. In addition, you can enjoy untouched wilderness in certain parts of the mountains. The longest track is 3 km long. The height difference is 867 m. In 2008, snow cannons and floodlights were installed, so that night skiers can use these well-equipped slopes. Ski schools and equipment rental points are open. In general, the slopes of Bialashnytsia, with the exception of the Olympic tracks, are more suitable for skiers of an average level of training.
A ski pass for one day costs 30 KM (270 UAH), for 5 days – 150 KM (1340 UAH), for a week – 200 KM (1800 UAH).
One of the tracks is illuminated in the dark, skiing is possible until 9:00 p.m. on Friday and Saturday.
The total length of the tracks is about 14,000 m.
The highest point: 2067 m.
Lower point: 1266 m, valley called Babyn do.
Height difference: the minimum difference on the Kolijevka track is 156 m, the maximum on the Kotlovi track is 900 m.
Elevators
Currently, the resort operates two three- and two-seater chairlifts and five cable lifts. It is the bugel that rises to the very top of Mount Bielashnica, from where a magnificent view of the Dinaric Mountains and the city of Sarajevo, which lies in the valley, opens up. In general, the lifts cope well with the influx of vacationers even during the New Year holidays. Currently, a lot of investment is being made in the ski resort, building hotels and new equipment, including lifts. All this indicates that Belashnytsia has good prospects.

Green apartments with mountain views are located in the village of Bjelašnica, 20 km from Sarajevo and 23 km from the Jahorina ski resort.
