You can also go to the Swiss ski slopes or take an excursion to Lake Geneva, to Lausanne or to the French-speaking canton of Switzerland, to the city of Montreux. But it is not necessary to cross the border if you want to visit palaces and museums – nearby are the cities of Bergamo and Stresa, ready to give their guests unforgettable impressions.
Bormio combines skiing and thermal recreation. This town was founded by the Romans more than 1000 years ago. Many famous people came here, including Leonardo da Vinci, to improve their health with the healing thermal waters of Bormio.
In the middle of the last century, tracks and lifts began to be actively built in this region, and already in 1985, the World Skiing Championship was held in Bormio. Among the valleys of Cuneo, the most favorite place for skiers is Limon-Piedmonti, located 40 km from Cuneo. Only 20 km from Cuneo is Lurisia, famous not only for skiing, but also for thermal recreation. The Civetta resort , located on the slopes of the eponymous Monte Civetta mountain at a height of 3,218 meters, offers tourists 80 km of ski tracks included in the Dolomiti Superski complex, at an altitude of 1,000-2,100 meters, served by 25 lifts. On the territory of the resort complex there are four charming mountain villages: Allege, Selva di Cadore, Palafavera and Zoldo. Three quarters of the ski slopes are equipped with snow cannons.
