8. Botswana
Have you always wanted to experience the African wilderness up close and go on an adventurous trip? Then we can highly recommend Botswana. June is one of the best months for safaris in Botswana, as the dry season begins and animals migrate to specific locations in search of water.
Daytime temperatures are pleasant at around 20°C to 25°C, but nights can be very cold, especially in the desert or open safari camps, where they can drop to 5°C or even lower. We therefore recommend bringing warm clothing for the cool evenings and early mornings.
June is dry, with hardly any rain. This makes it easier for you to spot animals at waterholes and rivers, as the vegetation thins and the animals become more dependent on specific water sources. The Okavango Delta’s floodwaters peak in June, making it a great time to explore the delta by traditional mokoro boat.
